Foxton Village Hall WiFi Policy

Foxton Village Hill Trust (VHT) provides access to the internet via a WiFi network

Details for access are located inside the Pavillion chair store and on the Foyer store door of the Village Hall

Hirers may use the WiFi at no extra charge, subject to the following terms:

1. Restrictions on use :

(a) The password must not be divulged to or used by any other party, however the hirer has permission to use multiple devices e.g.Phone, tablet and PC.

(b) Users agree at all times not to use the WiFi for any illegal activity including the following purposes:

Access, create, send, transmit or otherwise make available to others any material that is offensive, obscene or indecent or infringes copywright of another person or company

Uploading computer viruses or carry out hacking.

Interfere with other person's enjoyment of the WiFi service.

Accessing online media or BBC iplayer without satisfying requirements for TV licencing. (It is our current understanding that these services can be accessed by battery powered devices if users have licence for home address. If users do not have a home TV licence or they use mains powered devices, then they will require a separate TV licence.)

Accessing Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and other digital music platforms which are restricted to home/personal use. These must not be used for an event open to the public unless you are specifically licensed.

2. Disclaimer :

(a) VHT provides no guarantees that you will be able to connect to the internet successfully and does not provide any technical support.

(b) VHT is not responsible for data, messages, or pages that you may lose or that become misdirected because of the interruptions or performance issues with our WiFi service or wireless communications networks generally.

(c) VHT is not responsible for the purpose to which you put your devices or the content of any websites you visit.

(d) VHT does not take any responsibility for any malware, viruses, hacking or other unwanted effects on your devices.

3. Privacy and Data Protection:

Our router may collect technical information from your device necessary to provide access to the Internet, which may be logged to detect crime or where necessary to block access from a specific device.

4. Restrictions:

(a) VHT may restrict access to specific websites or other internet services at our sole discretion.

(b) VHT may impose usage, or service limits, suspend service, or block certain kinds of usage in our sole discretion, to protect other users of our WiFi service.

5. Our liability:

VHT shall not be liable to you in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise arising for: loss of income or revenue; loss of business; loss of profits or contracts; loss of anticipated savings; loss of opportunity or goodwill; loss of, damage to, or corruption, of data; or indirect or consequential loss of any kind.

6. Indemnity:

You agree to indemnify both the Village Hall and its Trustees against all liabilities, claims, losses or damages (including legal fees and other expenses) that may arise as a result of your connection to the village hall WiFi.

VHT has the right to immediately suspend or terminate the WiFi service at our absolute discretion in the event of misuse.
